POSSE is an abbreviation for Publish (on your) Own Site, Syndicate Elsewhere, the practice of posting content on your own site first, then publishing copies or sharing links to third parties (like social media silos) with original post links to provide viewers a path to directly interacting with your content.

My current POSSE strategy entails using Echofeed to automatically post my blog and note JSON entries to Mastodon and Bluesky. As well as manually posting direct links from my website to various social networks as I see fit, ignoring the throttling that might come with posting direct links. These posts will be tagged with the ∞ symbol to indicate syndication. I am in the process of taking ownership of my links .
